Shalom
- The stress in many of the Hebrew words is on the last syllable,
and so in this case, thus on "lom".
- The meaning of the word is "peace" from the root meaning "complete",
but it is used as a greeting on arrival and leaving, as "hello"
and "goodbye".
- It can also mean "good" in the greeting "Shabbat Shalom" id.
"Good Shabbat".
- We shall mention other meanings as we come across them.
