FOCUS ON JEWISH LEADERSHIP
PRO - Jewish Education Projects
Purpose: Provide educational tools and training for
prospective leaders.
Process: Modules tailored to each group within available
time frame. Learn about Jewish leaders, past and present,
through slides, texts, objects and symbols. Examine the qualities
that distinguished them as leaders. Evaluate their achievements.
Participants express their own sense of leadership
through creative workshops.
Implementors: Jewish educators, professionally trained
and experienced in use of visual aids.
Project coordinator: PRO - Jewish Education Projects was set
up by Naomi Heim and Anita Haviv to generate interest in the
rich Jewish and Zionist experience through maximum use of
experiential aids. Previous experience: management of Seminar
Department, Beth Hatefutsoth, Holocaust studies, informal Jewish
education at all levels.
Target group: Diaspora Jewish youth movement and
leadership training groups.
No. of Participants: 20-25 per working sub-group.
Duration of activity: 4-8 hours.
Location of activity: Flexible - large room-hotel, classroom,etc.
Aids and materials: Texts, biographies, educational
materials produced by participants in creative workshops.
Special requirements: Motivation towards leadership programs.

Tales from My Grandmother's Kitchen or You Are What You Eat
A look at the rich variety of cultural groups within
the Jewish world by sampling their culinary efforts. (2 hours)
Great Jewish Love Stories
Spirited reading of letters, poems, excerpts -
with props and accessories. (2 hours)
The Jew: Image and Self-Image
Workshop with art, caricature, music and literature.
(2 hours)
Jewish Women: The Power Behind the Throne
Workshop designed by women for women about
Jewish history in the making. Examine challenges and look
for solutions. (2 hours)
