Project Oren - The Kibbutz Institutes of Jewish Experience
Purpose: Bring Israeli and American youth together for this kibbutz based educational/recreational program. Jewish identity, kibbutz life, Israel-Diaspora relations and modern Isreal are the focal points of the educational component of Kedem, while fun and adventure are the goals of the recreatinal program.
Process: This 7-10 days all inclusive eductaional experience includes intensive seminars and encounter workshops based on kibbutz in addition o 3-5 days of adventure travel in the field where the two groups will carefully be cultivated into one social unit. The program culminates with 2 nights of home hospitality.
Implementors: Top Jewish educators from the
Diaspora, now living in Israel. Experts in Jewish history, kibbutz life
and work with Jewish youth from around the world.
Target group: Diaspora Jewish youth age 15-18.
No. of Participants: 20 - 50.
Duration of activity: 7-10 days.
Location of activity: Selected kibutzim.
Aids and materials: Texts, games, Multimedia tools, adventure travel and workshops.
