PAST PRESENT FUTURE: A MINI SEMINAR
Beth Hatefutsoth-Seminar Department
Purpose: Increase seminar participants' awareness of their rich
Jewish heritage and show the relationship between the past and
the future.
Process: Seminar opens with audio-visual show entitled "Past-
Present-Future" to introduce the topic and evoke personal responses.
Group is guided through Permanent Exhibit keeping the theme in mind
and taking an active part by completing worksheets and telling stories.
The last stage is a creative workshop where an audio-visual show or
"community newspaper" is produced.
Implementors: Guides are university graduates with experience in
informal education. They are Museum trained to use exhibits for
educational purposes.
Target Group: English speaking youth 14-17 years old.
No. of Participants: Unlimited. Each subgroups is 10-18.
Duration of Activity: 3 1/4 hours.
Location of Activity: Beth Hatefutsoth - Diaspora Museum.
Aids and Materials: The participants receive guidelines, surveys,
and questionaires..

Project Coordinator:
The Seminar Department has many years experience planning and
implementing programs for visitors of all ages and nationalities.
This specific module was developed by collating the department's
past experience with groups and incorporating participant feedback.
Additional Module
Name: The Bnei Mitzvah Program
Based on the Permanent Exhibit, module teaches Bar/Bat Mitzvah
aged youth the importance of community involvement. Activity book
includes projects to be completed upon return to home community.
