THE MIDDLE EAST ENGAGED IN THE PEACE PROCESS
An Inside View - Seminar in Egypt, Jordan, Israel (Da'at Travel Services)
Purpose: Give participants an opportunity to explore various viewpoints
and attitudes of official and unofficial people in the three countries
and to see how they regard one another. The experience is intended to
have a first class impact on the course of study about proposals and
possible solutions to the Middle East conflict.
Process: Two-day field trips to each of the countries: Egypt, Jordan and Israel. Meetings with government officials and academics; seminars in the political science departments of theuniversities in Cairo, Amman and Jerusalem and home hospitality with local people in each country.
Implementors: Da'at staff and political science analyst.
Additional Modules
Israel as a Melting Pot
Field trips and study of five elements in Israeli society: the army,
the community center, a moshav, a pioneer settlement and an Arab village.
Program includes exchange of views and field survey.
Civil Rights in Israel

Law in Israel
Program covers major elements of the Israeli judiciary, including the
multi-faceted court system for administering civil, religious and military law.
The Changing Face of the Desert
Field trips addressing issues such as industrialization, desert agriculture,
immigrant absorption, permanent housing for Bedouins and pioneer settlements.
Target Group: University-age students.
No. of Participants: 15-45.
Duration of Activity: 6 days.
Location of Activity: Egypt, Jordan and Israel.
Aids and Materials: Reading material relevant to the subject.
Special Requirements: Passport without Israeli stamps.
