The President's Award for Jewish Education in the Diaspora

We are pleased to inform you that the Department for Jewish Zionist Education of the Jewish Agency for Israel has decided to renew the tradition initiated in the past followed by the Education Department of the World Zionist Organization, whereby a prize is awarded once every two years for exceptional projects designed to strengthen and enhance Jewish education.

The prize will be awarded in three categories:

The 5765 prize will be awarded in the following fields:

  1. A public figure who has made a unique contribution to education in the Diaspora
  2. A school principal or senior staff member who have worked to develop ties between the school and the community
  3. Jewish educators who have developed projects aimed at strengthening ties with the State of Israel

You are hereby invited to submit nominations in any and all of these fields in accordance with the attached regulations. Please include additional relevant material.

Applications should be addressed to

and should arrive no later than September 1, 2004. The judging committee will announce the selection of candidates on or before November 15, 2004.

Awards will be presented on February 2005 during the meetings of the Board of Governors of the Jewish Agency at the residence of the President of the State of Israel and in his presence.
