Party Platform

Economy:

"I support privatization of government-owned enterprises and institutions…this will facilitate improved quality of the products and services supplied to the citizens of the country." (One Israel)

"…Protection for the jobs and wages of its workers for a period of three to five years should be a prerequisite for turning over a government enterprise to private ownership…" (One Israel)

"Creating conditions that promote competition in industry and the service sector will bring about a reduction in the price of goods and services. This will increase the purchasing power of the shekel and help raise the standard of living as well as increasing wages." (One Israel)

"We must totally eradicate the system of giving budgetary windfalls to political interest groups. This will liberate a significant chunk of budget resources for the real needs of the population. A balanced distribution of the state budget will make possible increased investment in development of infrastructure, education, culture and social programs, and will enable the dynamic of free market forces to work more effectively in other fields." (One Israel)

"Tax rates must be lowered significantly for small businesses and individual taxpayers with average incomes, and taxed and the minimum wage abolished entirely. Only the establishment of a balanced and wise economic policy, based on encouraging free market development in conjunction with attention to social problems, will help promote production, foreign and domestic trade, and a higher standard of living for the nation's citizens." (One Israel)

Jerusalem:

"Jerusalem shall remain the eternal and undivided capital of Israel. On this question there is no room for doubt, nor any political haggling. Jerusalem was, is, and will remain the united capital of our nation." (One Israel)

Religion and State:

"I am committed to the unity of the Jewish people. I affirm the legitimacy of all religious streams and assert that Israel is a democratic, Zionist and Jewish State in which all have the right to live in an atmosphere of tolerance and true equality." (One Israel)

"I am opposed to the passage of legislation in the Knesset which would deny the rights of non-Orthodox religious groups in Israel." (One Israel)

We oppose all forms of religious coercion." (One Israel)"

Peace Process:

"Without forward movement on the peace process, there can be no quiet, no tranquility. The only alternative to the peace process in war. Although we have won and have sacrificed our loved ones, we will nevertheless be obliged to sit at the table and negotiate- obliged by the pressure of world public opinion, with our people divided, to resume negotiating and to reconstruct our relations with our Arab neighbors. The right solution and the only solution from a political and military-strategy standpoint is progress in arrangements for peace. Accords based on the principle of reciprocal phases and supported by the overwhelming majority of the Israeli people are at the foundation of this peace settlement." (One Israel)

"A return to the boundaries of 1967 is impossible. Any peace agreement we reach must be based on the assured security of our borders." (One Israel)

"Gush Etzion, Alfei Menashe, Ariel and other large settlement blocs will remain under Israeli sovereignty." (One Israel)

"…The principle of physical separation between Israel and the Palestinian Autonomous Areas as the primary guarantee of the final status agreement. This principle fully serves the political, security, and economic interests of Israel. Only clear boundaries between the two peoples will enable them to develop good neighborly relations." (One Israel)

Lebanon:

"Negotiations with Syria should be renewed in reliance on the principle that 'the extent of withdrawal will match the extent of peace." Only when we are certain that Syria is ready for peace with Israel can consideration be given to the possibility of territorial compromise of the Golan Heights. This cannot happen until there is a consensus on the questions to be addressed. The struggle against terror and the complete disarming of Hizballah , the early warning systems, demilitarization on Syria's part, control over water sources, economic cooperation." (One Israel)

"We have no territorial claims in Lebanon. On condition that there is security for Israel's northern areas, an IDF withdrawal is not only desirable, but crucial. My plan for staged withdrawal by the UIDF from southern Lebanon is based on three tenets: Governmental guarantees to put a stop to terrorism wages against Israel from Lebanese territory. Changes in the way the IDF operates in southern Lebanon. Broad international support for Israel's position on guarantees security for our northern borders." (One Israel)

"It is Syria who must provide the guarantees that such an agreement will be honored." (One Israel)
